The design process starts with a consultation where a Valcucine designer will walk you through the showroom and talk to you about the possibilities and options we have to offer. We would love to hear as much as possible about your space and needs at this point. We will discuss basic layouts, finishes and budget in preparation for the next step.
In order to start designing your kitchen, we will need a plan of the space and some photos for reference. We will interview you to find out your cooking habits storage needs, appliance choices and finish preferences. In about a week or so, your designer will invite you back to the showroom for a presentation that will include drawings and/or 3D renderings, finish selections and a price estimate for your project. This presentation will give you an idea of what Valcucine Chicago can do for you.
Once you decide to proceed with Valcucine Chicago we will require a retainer equal to about 10% of the project budget to prepare an order. This retainer establishes you as our client and allows us to visit the site for a final measure, refine the design and prepare the order. The retainer amount goes towards your order and is not an additional cost. Once the perfect design is settled, we will present you with our Purchase Agreement. A 50% deposit (minus the retainer amount) is required to place the order with our factory in Italy. The lead time is typically about 16-20 weeks until the cabinetry is delivered to the jobsite.
In the meantime, our technical staff will work with the project's contractor and/or architect to make sure the space is prepared correctly to accept the kitchen. This will include a technical set of drawings and possible meetings at the showroom or the jobsite. Once the order is ready to ship from the factory in Italy, we will collect the balance payment. At this time, we will be able to advise the approximate delivery date. Container loading, ocean shipment, customs, rail transport to Chicago and unloading at our warehouse typically takes about 5 weeks.
Our team of trained installers will set, mount and level all cabinets onsite. They will work with project subs to make sure the kitchen is perfect. Once the installation is complete, a Valcucine representative will visit your home (if local) to demonstrate the special features of your kitchen, talk to you about proper maintenance and walk you through the registration process to activate the product guarantees. After a glass of champagne and a toast, your kitchen is ready to use.
